Girliepop started with a sweet tooth and one simple problem: How do you enjoy dessert while still working toward your goals?
We use ingredients like nonfat Greek yogurt, egg whites, applesauce, Carbmaster milk, pro7ein synthesis and monk fruit sweetener to create desserts with better macros without losing what makes dessert enjoyable.
Protein-packed treats created to make hitting your goals a little easier and a whole lot more enjoyable.
What started in our kitchen six years ago has grown from cupcakes for our family into something we're excited to share with yours.
Camden has always had a sweet tooth. During his weight-loss journey, finding something sweet that fit his macros and still tasted like dessert was surprisingly difficult. Most of the protein treats we tried either didn't taste very good or came with macros that didn't make much sense for what we were trying to accomplish.
I'm almost the opposite. I'm not big on sweets. I'm the person who takes the frosting off a cupcake, and too much sugar doesn't sit well with me. So about six years ago, I started experimenting in our kitchen with a basic cake mix, changing ingredients and looking for a way to make something that wasn't overwhelmingly sweet, had better macros, and still tasted like an actual cupcake.
After plenty of experimenting, we made a batch that finally checked the boxes we cared about.
The first batch made 24 cupcakes. They were gone in about an hour. 😂

We started bringing the cupcakes to parties, and the same thing kept happening: people wanted more. The kids would come back asking for seconds, family wanted to know what was in them, and people started asking us for the recipe.
At first, some of the parents were hesitant to let the kids have another cupcake. But once we explained that they were made with more protein and less sugar than a traditional cupcake, the reaction changed pretty quickly.
Then we started hearing one question over and over:
“Do you sell these?”
Camden and I were already constantly looking for protein sweets ourselves, and most of what we found either didn't taste great or didn't have the macros we were looking for. Eventually we realized we had created the kind of dessert we'd been searching for all along.
That's when Girliepop started becoming more than something we made for ourselves and our family.
The name actually came from our daughter.
My sister, Rebeca, started calling her “Girliepop” as a nickname. There was just one problem... she absolutely hated it. 😂
Naturally, the rest of us thought that made it even funnier.
When it came time to give this little family business a name, Girliepop just felt right. Our daughter loves being in the kitchen and baking with us, so somehow the nickname she never wanted ended up becoming part of something our whole family created together.
And Girliepop Cupcakes was born. 🧁💕
